SKIN CARE TIPS FOR WAXING

 

SENSITIVE SKIN
Tiny red spots or a reddened area may appear on the skin for a few hours, or even a day in some cases. If this should happen, don't be alarmed. This is just an indicator that the hairs have been removed from the follicle and it quite normal. They will disappear.  Neosporin cream or Benadryl cream  will ease the irritation.
 
FOLLOWING APPOINTMENTS
For best results allow hair to grow 2 to 4 weeks. As each waxing treatment is done your hair growth will slow down. You may prefer more frequent waxes in the summer however, hormonal changes or certain  medications you may be on can also give you erratic growth spurts.
 
IN-GROWN HAIR
If you have trouble with in grown's because of shaving you will have less with waxing's, sometimes not at all. When the hair shaft has  become empty for several weeks, dead cells have a chance to form over the hair shaft opening. The weakened hair reaches the surface and simply curls under. Using a loofah 1 or 2 times a week usually prevents  in-grown's  Or they can be easily removed when you come in for your appointment.  In many cases using  a product called Tend Skin will prevent the ingrown hair problem. Tweezing is not recommended between waxing appointment. It changes growth cycles and causes  stray hairs to pop up in between  waxing appointments

 

NEVER have facial waxing if you are using any AHA or Retin-A  products! Severe irritation will be the results.
 
More Helpful Tips...
Keep skin cool,  DO NOT sweat, use steam rooms, sauna or sun  for 24 hours  after waxing. You should not be waxed if your sunburned or skin is irritated in anyway. Do not use oils or lotions in area to be waxed at least 2 hours prior to your appointment.
Use your loofah or body brush regularly. Using “Tend Skin”  between waxes will prevent ingrown's  Refrain from tweezing stray hair between waxing. This will change the growth cycles and can encourage ingrown hairs.
